COMMON ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THERAPY
GRIEF & LOSS
TRAUMA & PTSD
In the midst of trauma, it's easy to feel alone. But healing from trauma doesn't have to be. When you've experienced trauma, you can often feel overwhelmed, stuck, and scared. Sometimes the words don't even come out, which makes reaching out feel even harder. Other times, you didn't realize something was traumatic until the memory comes back months or years later. Christin utilizes treatments like Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to support you in finding healing from stressful or traumatic events. She believes that when individuals can begin to feel safe, trauma healing can begin. Wherever you are in your healing journey, Christin is here to walk through it with you.
If you've found yourself turning to drugs, alcohol, or sex to cope, you're not alone. Christin began her career working in residential treatment, helping men and women struggling through the early stages of addiction recovery. Christin is knowledgeable about 12-Step, as well as other peer-based recovery programs. Whatever stage of recovery you're in, Christin is prepared to walk with you through the journey toward strength, hope, and healing.
It's not always easy to reach out for help while you're on active duty. Life moves quickly, and often you don't recognize you need help until things slow down. It can be challenging to get help when some people just don't get it, or just don't seem to care. Christin has worked with active duty service members, reservists, guardsmen, and retirees to feel more connection and peace in their lives. She has supported men and women to address relationship issues, addiction, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Christin has completed additional training with Dr. Peter Levine and Colonel Charles Hoge, MD, US Army (Ret.) on treating military-related PTSD.
